Jazz Legend Series featuring Sugar Hill Beer
Friday, September 11th and 18th 6-8pm
Whole Foods Market Upper West Side, Free
Join us for a special series to highlight the music and beer that brew uptown. The Jazz Foundation of America, a nonprofit that helps musicians in need, will feature local Jazz Legends performing in conjunction with a Sugar Hill Beer Tasting and Food Pairing. Legend has it that during Prohibition a special beer was being made Uptown in Harlem. This beer was brewed in secret, a well-preserved African tradition handed down from generation to generation. During the early years of the Harlem Renaissance, this secret brew could be found in Speakeasies and after hours spots all over Harlem. It was said to be the brew of choice for the many great musicians and artists that flourished in Harlem at that time.
